CGP's National Conference on Philanthropic Planning is designed for those who want to increase their skills, starting with the basics of charitable gift planning. Find workshops and sessions designed specifically for the newer gift planner at NCPP.

JUMPSTART: Gift Planning Fundamentals Workshop

Monday, October 9, 1:00 – 5:00 pm
*Additional fee required for NCPP attendees.

If you’re new to charitable planning, this session introduces terms and concepts, with clear explanation of both basic and advanced tools and strategies. 

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn about assets that are frequently used in charitable planning, and consider ways to help your donors and clients make gifts with greater impact.
  • Understand how common “planned” gift vehicles work, and how they can be used as part of broader estate, financial and family plans.
  • Consider whether your own donor or client base is likely to include people who are prospects for planned or blended gifts.

Open Space Discussion is your chance to discuss the issues that are important to you with people like you. Open Space will allow conference attendees to identify topics that they want to discuss with peers, and convene small discussion groups around those topics.

The Leadership Institute is a group of CGP members with the highest levels of gift planning expertise.

In this session, Leadership Institute participants will engage in focused discussion of topics currently critical to the field. Individuals who are not participants in the Leadership Institute are welcome to observe the discussion as audience members. Time will be provided for Q&A at the end of each topic discussion.
